Vancouver South African Film Festival, April 20-22

April 20, 2012

The Vancouver South African Film Festival is returning for a second year! The VSAFF is proud to present features and documentaries that explore the culture, history and politics of South Africa—films that entertain and inform.

South Africa, with its diverse population, rich tradition of struggle for democracy and equity, and complex political and economic reality, has produced numerous outstanding films. The movies you will see at the VSAFF are among those.

The VQFF will present the Vancouver Premiere of Skoonheid on Saturday, April 21 at 9:30 p.m. A film about the ravaging power of beauty and repressed desire, Skoonheid was shown at Cannes in 2011 and was South Africa’s selection for the Best Foreign Film category for the 2012 Oscars.
