During the 2009 Vancouver Queer Film Festival, the Queer History Project and our Artist-in-Residence local filmmaker Gwen Haworth (She's A Boy I Knew) hosted a creative community-based oral history project—a mobile video tent modeled after CityTV's Speakers Corner—called the Speakers Cabaña.
Over 75 Festival audience members in shared their own autobiographical stories. These are the questions they were asked:
- Talk about a memorable queer kiss.
- What is one of your favorite queer spaces? Why?
- What was a pivotal moment for you or for your community?
