PROJECTION 20: CREATIVE INITATIVES

QUEER HISTORY PROJECT

Through the Queer History Project, we are commissioning films that record and tell queer experiences from the past to ensure our stories are captured and told for generations to come. We envision the project will produce a lasting body of work that will enable our stories to take their rightful place in Canadian history.

The first installment of the Queer History Project was a collaborative film project by Veda Hille and Ivan E. Coyote that tells the stories of queer seniors in Vancouver and was shown at our 2007 Festival.

Our second installment, a collaborative film with John Greyson, Richard Fung and Ali Kazimi, that reveals the story of Rex vs. Singh, a sodomy trial that occurred in association with the Komagata Maru incident in 1915, will debut at the 20th Anniversary Vancouver Queer Film Festival in August 2008.

Be a part of history in the making, donate to Projection 20!
