About Us

What began in 1988 as a small community film festival has evolved into a year-round multi-faceted queer arts organization with the following core programs: Out in Schools education program, Queer History Project and the annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival.  Our vision is to celebrate and advance queer communities through cultural expressions.

The Vancouver Queer Film Festival is the city's 2nd largest film festival.  Our August 2009 edition featured 49 film screenings and 5 workshops, 119 local performance artists and speakers, and 13 parties and receptions.  A strategic focus of the Festival continues to be an emphasis on creative innovation and audience experiences.

Our team is passionate about making a difference in our community and it is evident in our culture and values.  We are a creative workplace that encourages personal growth and learning.  We offer both wellness and professional development funds.  Along with the unique opportunity to work for a queer organization!
